British Columbia is the westernmost of Canada's provinces, with the capital of Victoria, famous for its natural beauty, as reflected in its Latin motto, Splendor sine occasu ("Splendour without Diminishment").

Bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the west, by the U.S. state of Alaska on the northwest, and to the north by the Yukon and the Northwest Territories, on the east by the province of Alberta, and on the south by the U.S. states of Washington, Idaho, and Montana, always has a resource dominated economy, forestry industry and mining.
