Newfoundland is a province of Canada located on the country's Atlantic coast, comprises two parts: the island of Newfoundland off the country's eastern coast and Labrador region on the northwest of the island.

Significant tourism, mining, oil production, manufacturing and other traditional industries have helped Newfoundland to achieve a large gross domestic product every year. Since the fishing industry remains an important part of economy, aquaculture is a relatively new industry for the province but being solid contributor to the industry.
